General Counselors act as a guide for their cabin group. General counselors lead campers through
daily activities, guiding their growth and development and serving as positive role models. This is
done by participating in all cabin activities. General Counselors are also responsible for leading
or assisting one Chug (elective) program a week. General Counselors will also work with Unit Leaders
on planning and preparing bunk and unit Activities.
Activity Counselors also live in the cabin with campers but through the day are responsible for leading
a specific activity. Some of these activities require certification which Camp Mountain Chai will
provide for you. Below is a list of the specific activity areas.
Arts & crafts
Archery*
Dance
Lifegaurding*
Music
Drama
Ropes Course/Rock climbing*
Canoeing*
Nature
Mountain biking*

All activity counselors still have cabin responsibilities. You will sit with your cabins at all meals
and help during rest time, evening programs and any other all camp activities.
Activity Leaders are responsible for the supervision of specific activity counselors and areas. Activity
leaders must be able to help their staff with programming and lesson planning in their activity areas. Also
have the ability to supervise and evaluate their staff. Activity leaders will also be responsible for
programming all camp activities along with other key leadership staff.
Unit Leaders are responsible for an entire age group. This includes supervising the bunk staff, and making
sure you are aware of all camper issues. Supervision and evaluation is a large part of this job along with
unit and cabin specific programming
